My very first Portfolio Building Workshop is officially in the books!! And my goodness was it so much fun!
My vision for this Workshop came together beautifully thanks to the incredible people that helped bring it to life! I loved all the pink tones with unexpected greenery elements and soft romantic touches. The Ballroom At I Street was the perfect backdrop for this shoot, and thank goodness it is beautiful on the inside too (thanks Arkansas rain!!)! All table elements from Randal Events and The Social Collection worked together with the simple and classic name plate in such a unique and unexpected way that I just loved! The florals by Ollie Marie’s were to.die.for!! Cynthia always does an incredible job and is just the sweetest human! I love every opportunity to work with her and photograph her gorgeous florals! The cake was everything I hoped it would be, and then some! Michelle took my simple inspiration photo and took it over the top! Everyone kept talking about how this wished they could have another wedding because they would choose that cake! Sara and Breanna are incredibly talented! I gave them total freedom to do what they thought best for giving Ali a soft, feminine, romantic look, and they both did a beautiful job! Ali and Michael (who you might recognize as a past Bullard couple!) were just the best models! Every photographer talked about how much they loved working with them. They’re just cute enough to look good and just weird enough to make it fun! 😉 And y’all, the dress!! Tesori chose the PERFECT dress to go with my style vision and I’m completely obsessed with how good it looked with the rose gold rings that EVM Jewelers provided! Everything worked together so beautifully and I’m beyond happy with how it turned out!!
We had five photographers (we missed our sixth having to step out last minute!) attend this Workshop! I absolutely loved watching everyone do their thing! Fallon, one of the photographers, was gracious enough to bring her portable pink backdrop which made for a good time of headshots, silly photos, and some gorgeous editorial style photos! And if you know anything about me, you know I couldn’t help but have some snacks and drinks and a cute little goodie box with a personalized note for each of my friends. I’m a sucker for a cute goodie box!!
Since this was my first (of many!) Workshop to host, I really wanted to step back and observe. There are many things I learned and want to tweak for the next one, but overall I think it was a great evening that everyone enjoyed! I think my favorite part of the evening was watching the photographer interact with each other. They were so encouraging to each other! They also took the time to help each other in different areas and I heard many them say that they learned so much, just being around the other photographers. That’s exactly what I was hoping for from this Workshop! I didn’t want to set everything up and just have photographers come and shoot the pretty details. I wanted it to be a place to connect, encourage, challenge their creativity, learn, grow, and have a great time while doing it! From what I have heard thus far, I think it was a success! 🙂
Before we get into all the pretty photos I was able to take at the Workshop, I want to share a few “behind the scenes”
And now for the pretty things…
