This past weekend, we celebrated our baby girl. It was SO kind of our church small group, close friends, and sisters to throw us a baby shower. Getting to celebrate with so many of our people, from family to close friends & church family, was so, so special. Having everyone from different areas of our lives come together in one place was the sweetest!
It was a “Baby in Bloom” Fall theme with a few subtle personal touches for both David and I. It felt cozy, dainty, and so us. The details were absolutely beautiful and everyone showered baby girl Bullard with so much love. We feel incredibly blessed!
To my hostesses, thank you for such a thoughtful baby shower! I’m so grateful for each of you and how you’ve loved on us!
To all of our friends and family, thank you!! To those who traveled to love on us at this shower, who couldn’t make it but have still sent us gifts, and everyone in between – we are so grateful to have you in our lives!
Here’s just a few photos from the day.
My sister in law, Nikki, made these cute cupcake toppers and edible pumpkins!!
We received so many books, handwritten cards, and needs for our girl! I’m just loving all the girly things!
The photos below have a backstory.
My precious step-momma, Kathy, recently passed away. One of the last conversations I had with Kathy a month before she passed was telling her about our baby shower so she had a date to work towards getting healthier. She said to me, “you know if it’s up to me, I will be there to celebrate my Lil Luler.” Luler was a nickname only she called me. From the moment we told her we were expecting, she just KNEW it was going to be a girl. She immediately started calling the baby “Lil Luler” and when we told her we were having a girl, she wasn’t surprised at all. With three grand-boys already, she was ecstatic to be getting a granddaughter!
Needless to say, I felt a bit somber leading up to the shower as I knew I would have to face the reality that she wouldn’t be there to celebrate our girl, and she won’t be here to watch our Lil Luler grow.
As I opened our last gift at the shower from my sister in law, Amy, there was a note inside. Little did I know, she had many conversations with Kathy before her passing about what she wanted to get me and the baby. One of those things was a quilt with her name. I immediately started to cry reading the note, then completely lost all control of my emotions (I’ll spare you the video of me completely losing it) when I opened the quilt to see “Lil Luler” embroidered on it. It was, and will be, one of my most treasured gifts! I cannot wait to tell Lil Luler all about her incredible MeMe that already loved & adored her so very much!
We ended our time together in the sweetest way – circled around in prayer over our family. I’m beyond grateful for these women who already love our daughter, who pray for her, and pray for David and I as we step into this new role as parents.
My precious friends and hostesses (minus a couple we missed!) and my sweet friend Leslie (below, who didn’t make it into the hostess photo because she was taking it)!
My besties! We’ve walked through so many stages, changes, and celebrations of life together. We don’t all live near each other anymore, but we remain the most valued group friends! It’s been so fun walking through pregnancy with my friend Abigail who is due just a couple months after me!
My momma and my MawMaw – who, might I add, is 95 years old and just the cutest thing!!
My Sista Sista who cannot wait to become Aunt Amy and spoil BB!
Cousins, aunts, and family who I love dearly! Many who travelled, and many who couldn’t make it. There’s something really special about being the baby of the family and having everyone love on you and your own baby!
David and I are so thankful for all the love and support we’ve been given! We feel incredibly blessed that our baby girl is already so loved. We cannot wait to meet our daughter and share her with you all! From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU for loving us so well!
