I knew the moment I read Dylan and Krista’s “getting to know you” questionnaire that I would love this couple! At our very first meeting at Starbucks, we talked for hours and almost forgot that we also needed to go take their engagement photos before the rain rolled in for the evening. From their engagement session and Krista’s bridal session to their wedding day, it was confirmed that Dylan and Krista might be the most genuine, caring, and loving couple I have ever had the privilege of photographing!
Their wedding day started with a lot hugs, laughs, and sweet people! Dylan and Krista’s family and friends were just a DELIGHT to be around! I left their wedding day feeling like I was just “one of family” which meant the absolute world to me! Krista’s bridesmaids were so stinking sweet! I honestly felt so undeserving of how the made me feel like I had known them for years and was just another girlfriend hanging out (read: dancing and singing loudly)! They were so kind, inclusive and encouraging…. just like Krista.
It may have been the end of summer but we could not have asked for a more beautiful sunny day with just enough of a breeze! All of the portraits had to take place while the sun was still very high in the sky which made for a tricky time finding shade on the beautiful wide open land. I had to get creative with how I shot portraits, but thankfully I think they turned out beautifully!! At ceremony time, the sun had just set behind the barn which made for the most beautiful light and glow over the hills all throughout the ceremony. Thank you Jesus!!
Krista wrote the absolute sweetest testimony that I wanted to share. She wrote:
“Loren was the absolute perfect person to help capture our special day. She was so selfless in planning everything beforehand, helpful the day of, and our pictures turned out amazing. We wouldn’t have wanted anyone else to take our photos for us. We not only plan to use Loren for more future events, but we will also consider her a forever friend.”
*insert tears rolling down my face here*
Dylan and Krista, I just love you both! You were such a joy to work with, it saddens me that our time in this season of your life is over! Your day was such a dream and it was a privilege to be the one there to capture it!! Thank you for allowing us to be there, and opening your arms wide enough to make us feel like forever friends! I can’t wait to see what your future holds!!
Dylan’s grandfather passed away earlier in the year. Krista had the sweetest idea to make a necklace she placed around her bouquet that was made of flowers from his casket spray. To get even sweeter than that, Dylan’s wedding band belonged to his grandfathers.
Are their colors not just gorgeous!? This wedding party was SO much fun!!
Krista’s sweet grandfather hand carved and painted (yes, you read that correctly) this cake topper of Krista and Dylan with their little puppy Dally!
This photo of Dylan and Krista with her sister and brother-in-law was one they wished to recreate from her sisters wedding. So sweet!
My hubby got to tag along with me which was so much fun! When I asked Krista if they would mind him tagging along to film some BTS footage, she and her family were so welcoming with a big “absolutely, bring him!” It’s not often that we get to work together, so that just made this day even sweeter!
Thanks to my sweet self-proclaimed business manager, AKA husband, for enduring the long day and putting this together for us!! Enjoy!
